Description
As for everyone globally, Covid struck GFN this year. Having established significant momentum over the course of the previous 6 editions of the forum, it was decided to host this year's event online. The challenges this presented drove us to build a bespoke platform for broadcasting, which enabled us to connect with more people and also launch GFN.TV.
The event was entitled ‘Nicotine: science, ethics and human rights’, with over 30 presenters, over two days, addressing both the increasing body of science and evidence supporting tobacco harm reduction, as well as the intense and unethical attacks on pro-tobacco harm reduction researchers, academics and professionals across the world have increased significantly, with organisations discredited and ad hominem attacks launched on individuals for their beliefs or connections. The free broadcast drew some 2,000+ viewers, from over 100 countries, who were also able to contribute to the proceedings via a chat facility.
