Description
The theme ‘It’s time to talk about nicotine’ aimed to build on previous years, reframing the debates in a way that reflected how attitudes towards the use of nicotine continued to change, as well as considering some of its more positive and potentially beneficial uses. The appetite for this was evident, with almost 600 participants attending the event - a significant increase over the years. Professor David Abrams, in accepting the Michael Russell Award, summed up the importance of acceptance, understanding and compassion for people who choose to make positive changes in their nicotine use, saying that it is primarily about ‘the people, the people and the people.’
