Description:
Modelling can provide valuable information to help guide the public health community and regulatory bodies by drawing projections of potential outcomes based on our current knowledge. In Japan, our model suggests that reductions in smoking initiation and high adherence to exclusive tobacco heating product (THP) use mean that even moderate reductions in the risk of developing a smoking-related disease could lead to a positive population health impact from introducing heated tobacco products (HTPs) in Japan.
